The Spirits Play evoked a lot of emotions in me, especially the part when Ee Mien talked about her being raped by the soldiers, so as to boost their morale and confidence to fight the war. I cried for her part, 'cos I thought it was really sad and unfair that people, women in this case, have to be treated like this in war. I cried for the mother too, when I saw how she longed to see her husband again, and try to find him even when she knows that it's one of the thousands of skulls out there. Think I'm the only emotional person there; nicole lee and yuesing said they were trying to stop herself from sleeping! War is tragic. Everyone knows that; but why do they still choose to engage in war?
