Last Day of 2008 9:30 PM

It's the last day of 2008!

I don't really know whether it's a happy or sad thing. But I know I had a good year, with lots of wonderful memories and I'm grateful to the people who have made a change in my life. Thank you! :)

Went Christmas shopping today (it's a bit late, but I didn't have time before that) at Bugis and Orchard on my own. Fickle me spent at least half an hour on one person I was shopping for and my whole day was gone. I spent all my hard-earned money on gifts for friends! :) I love spending money on people. Visited royce chocolates booth too, and saw Mel and Nana working. I'm so not used to being a customer there and not a promoter! I requested for something and blurted out "Is that all?". It just came naturally, like I was repeating a customer's order and asking whether that was all. I even requested for gift wrapping hahaha. Oh, and I helped a lady today too! She lost her wallet and asked me for money to take a bus home, so I gave some money to her. Quite a meaningful way to spend my last day of 2008.

I'm guess I'm looking forward to year 2009. Actually I'm looking forward to see Elvin Ng model tonight at the countdown show on channel 8!

Happy new year to all my dear friends and relatives! :D

With lots of love,
Elaine.

No more work! :( 9:30 PM

Yesterday was my last day working for Royce! Audrey, Candice and her family visited me, and I stuffed them with samples 'cos I'm so happy when I see my friends. :D Qianye and her friend dropped by too! I think they had some bball event in orchard haha.

Some memorable things happened during my days in Royce when...

1. I worked the morning shift.

There is an opening anthem in takashimaya every morning. There would be an announcement which says "Good morning everyone, and welcome to takashimaya department store..." So the music plays and all staff stand in front of their booth entrances and when the music ends everyone will bow. Then the customers would walk in and start shopping. I've always found this practice very amusing, and I like the bowing part! :D

2. I answered a call. It was from Yasser.

Me: Good afternoon royce.
Yasser: Is Mikami (the jap manager) here?
Me: Nope.
Yasser: Okay. Who are you?
Me: Royce.
Yasser: No, I mean who are you.
Me: Royce?
Yasser: What's your NAME?
Me: Oh! Hahaha, Elaine.

And later Ah Beng (Edison) who found out about this story called me "Royce" for the rest of the day...

3. I was cashiering.

I just learnt how to use the NETS and credit card payment machines yesterday and I was made to handle the whole counter on my own in the morning. -.- At first I didn't dare to touch the machines, and asked the customers to make payment with their cards at the taka cashier or pay me cash. Then later I decided to try.

A customer passed me her NETS card.
I slotted the card in the machine, and started pressing some buttons. I got stuck and stared at the machine.
Me: I'm so sorry, I'm new, so...
Customer: Uhh, you want me to help you?

And she cancelled the transaction and started pressing the NETS procedures herself! While I stood by her and studied what she was doing, also to make sure she typed in the correct amount she was supposed to pay. Gee my customer knows my job better than me! XD

4. Said tells me about his unbelievable education background.

"I re-took PSLE 5 times, retained 1 year for sec 1 and sec 2, and I'm waiting for my O level results now. I'm 22 this year." I'm still having trouble calculating to confirm whether this is true/ his lie is accurate!

5. The "nuttybuttys"!

Filzah was serving a customer, and I was next to her.
Customer: .... oh, and give me one nuttybutty.

I grinned, and when the customer left we burst out laughing. "Nuttybutty" is a very cute name for our signature nutty bars!

I really had fun working in Royce. Hehe and I'm happy they'll welcome me back whenever I want to work there again! :D

Photos here!

My view from the counter. Godiva is really colourful huh? Oh, and the stack of sales slips at the side is where I grabbed paper from when Jeff Wang was standing in front of where I took this picture from. :D

The cashier, the place where I make the most blunders! XD Most of the time I still get out of trouble by smiling... :)

My sinfully good FOC Godiva chocolate iceblend! :D Mr JJ made it for me manually because the machine which measures out proportion is out of order, but it tasted great! I had a chocolate high after that haha. Thank you sooo much! ^^

Me finishing my last bit of my chocolate drink, squatting down. Yeah we have to squat down when we eat/ drink at the counter, taka rules.

Filzah and me! Gee, this girl's good at camwhoring hahaha.

Filzah, Said, me and Cempaka. The four silly camwhoring part timers!

This is what happens when it's the last day of work for part timers!

Filzah, me and Cempaka. :)

Me, Yaseer and Said. Yaseer loves to attack people with his killer stare, but he's very nice too! And Said's funny hehe.

Me and Meekey, a friend I made from Leonidas, booth just back-to-back to Royce!

SJ 40th anniversary dinner on 27th December

Rushed down from my job, but my poor estimation of time ended up with me being early and waiting for Candice and Audrey for half an hour plus plus! I changed at my workplace and gave everyone a big shock in my white dress haha.

Anyway, it was good to see my squadmates again, after so long! :)

Squad photo with our instructors! :D

I love std4s '08.

The dinner was not bad I guess, and the 40th anniversary committee did a great job preparing for this event! Especially the mosiac. It was a nice big SJ gathering. Even Mr Kiw and Mr Sng came!

I have to report in school by 7.30am tomorrow! Geee I'm tired out by consecutive days of late nights and early mornings out I rushed home to sleep after dance after making a special trip to TCCIHS at outram to collect my one day's worth of pay. $44! Okay not so bad haha. I want to get my paycheck from Royce soon!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! 12:20 AM

Mr JJ gave me and my colleagues some christmas logcake today. :)
Awww man. He's really nice! But I kind of got teased by my colleagues for the rest of the day. And tricked into giving him my number. -.- Omg my colleagues are like matchmakers! I hardly have direct communication with him. Maybe he doesn't dare to talk to me. But I think I'm quite friendly! Hmmmm.

My slice of cake. :D I think only Gladys and I enjoyed the cake; the rest of my colleagues threw away their shares (there were about 5 slices altogether I think) 'cos they didn't like it! :/ I feel really bad since it's expensive and it's a treat... but I appreciate his effort haha.

JC gave me a cute little pooh bear! :D So I'm receiving christmas presents this year after all.

I have to use blogger and pictures to record down all these nice little things my friends have done for me, or else forgetful me will forget haha. But so far I haven't read my archives though. Blogging is like saving my memories in a thumbdrive. Perhaps when I'm old I'll start reading about my posts and reminsce the good o' times. :)

I was dreaming of Elvin Ng coming to buy chocolates today but he never came... :( Oh, and Gladys saw Wong Li Lin and Addy Lee before my shift! XD So cool. But they were just talking nearby; they didn't buy chocolates from us.

Ooh, it's past 12. It's CHRISTMAS already! :D Merry merry christmas to all my dear friends. May everyone get lots of presents! I'm spending my christmas working this year, and I kind of have a feeling that it's going to be a special one. At least, a different one. In any case, I look forward to surprises, if there are any! Hahaha I'm so highhh about my job. But I'll miss a lot of my part-timer colleagues who're stopping work yesterday (24 dec)! :( There're Gladys, Michelle, Cempaka and all. I'm like one of the few left who were allocated work schedules till christmas. Maybe it's because of my smiles. In any case, I won't let the jap manager down! :D

Santa Claus is coming to town~

24 December 2008
Jeff Wang & My Christmas Gift :D 10:07 AM

I had a super cool yester-day at work! Jeff Wang came to buy chocolates from us! :D Actually it's only my colleague Gladys and I who were getting excited and making a fuss over him because we're the only chinese working at the booth at that time.

The whole process of confirming he's really the actor took really long though.

-----
Me: (Look at the customer and couldn't help but stare)
(Quickly turn back and thought for a couple of seconds- He looks like Wang Jian Fu!) x 3
(Turns to Gladys and whispers: "Eh, that guy in the black specs looks like Wang Jian Fu leh!")

Gladys: "Yes! That's what I was thinking too!"

Both of us got really excited and hesitated whether or not to ask him whether he's the actor. But later I was serving a customer in front of him and Gladys attended to him. He spoke in English, and it sounded like it was with a foreign accent so I thought we'd gotten the wrong person. But when he finished his orders,

Gladys: "Can I ask you something. Are you Wang Jian Fu?"

Guy: "YES."

Both of us burst out laughing (out of excitement)! And I quickly asked him whether we can have his signature, and just grabbed 2 pieces of taka sales slips which were very conveniently placed at the top of the counter for him to sign on, while Gladys took the marker.

Here's the signature! :D :D

----

There was another surprise for me, at the earlier part of the day. I received a christmas gift from someone I don't know! Well... I know what he looks like, but I don't know him properly. Yeah, it's the guy I mentioned in the previous posts who likes to wave at me over at the opposite Godiva booth. He gave me a box of Godiva chocolates, passed to me by my colleague from his colleague, and everyone at my booth laughed at me! XD

He's really nice I guess, and I had to return a gift or else I'll feel really bad. My gift is really slip-shod though! :/ I bought him a box of truffles from my booth (I personally think they're really good!) together with a little note saying hi on a sales slip. Gladys kept teasing me when I was writing the note on the sales slip, and I actually wrote the same thing twice because I signed my name slanted for the first note. Perfectionist habits. But thank goodness I wrote a note 'cos I'd found out he had a note for me in the little package when I opened it on the train on my way home. Michelle calls this the "chocolate affair", and I'm only mentioning this because it sounds really amusing and pretty sweet if it's real but I guess for my case it's not? I'd think this is a simple 礼尚往来 good-hearted act. But at least both of us know each other's names now. He kind of recognised me as the very-smiley-girl before that I think, because my colleague told me he described me as something like that when he asked about me from another colleague the day before when I could only report at 6.00pm because I had dance.

Anyway, I still think it's sweet receiving a christmas gift like that. Omg I love working at royce more and more! But I guess my work schedule's ending soon, 'cos Christmas' TOMORROW! Yeah, which means they won't need many part-timers after that. :( I believe today will be the most busy day after all the days I've worked? I feel highh already. Must work harder and make more customers happy today! :)

My Christmas gift. :)

On a side note, Iimelda, Shirlene and Keni dropped by to see me yesterday! More friends. :D I was so busy I couldn't attend to them too, sorry! Happy happy. ^^

22 December 2008
Dance + work = busy christmas week 11:30 AM

I've decided to choose dance and work. Which means this christmas week is going to be real busy for me.

Today: Dance (1pm-5pm), Work (6.00pm-10.30pm)
Tuesday: Dance (8.30am-12pm), Work (1.30pm-10.30pm)
Wednesday [Christmas Eve!]: Dance (8.30am-12.30pm), Work (1.30pm-10.30pm)
Thursday [Christmas!]: Work schedule not confirmed, no dance.
Friday: Work schedule not confirmed, dance in the morning hopefully, so that I can opt for the 1.30pm-10.30pm slot for work!

Actually there's no 6.00pm-10.30pm slot, but they really need lots of help and I'm more than willing to help 'cos I love this job, so I'm rushing down from dance practice at tanjong rhu (yay we're moving back!) straight to work. I wonder if I'll lose weight 'cos I'm skipping a lot of meals, but my colleagues keep offering me samples and I keep taking them 'cos they're really good, so maybe not, but I won't grow fatter like this I guess! :) They call me the 'holy girl' over there 'cos I smile way too much and I never understand most of the supposedly sick things they're talking about. Heh but I love to interact with customers! Especially during the super busy periods which everyone dreads but I'm fine with it 'cos I just keep talking continuously and I like it.

But actually I like it more at the small cozy main counter than the larger promotion counter. I couldn't interact much over there 'cos people there just like to ask me for samples, when I'm at the nama chocs booth. When I was shifted to the promo counter yesterday to help out I got pretty bored cutting and serving the chocs... Yeah and I sneaked back to the main counter after my break since one person had left when her shift ended at 7.30pm, and got all happy serving customers back there again! Hehe but I guess I do have more motivation working there. Currently my two main motivations for smiling all the time is the guy who keeps waving at me from godiva (I realised it's godiva, not harrods oops) when he gets the chance (I have no idea why, but yeah) and this colleague of mine who keeps saying he loves my smile. But it really doesn't take much effort to smile right? And it brightens people's day up.

I'm spending my christmas this year working! Hmmm, but I don't exactly mind hehe. But this means I won't be able to receive a lot of christmas presents this year! Unless people make the effort to come over and find me, which I'll feel bad myself too. I don't really have much wants anyway, at least for now. I feel happy just serving customers and seeing them leave with the nicenice royce chocs. :D I love it when people spend for other people without thinking! 'cos I kind of do that too, especially when I'm overseas. I remember this guy who bought 7 kids advent calenders at one shot, which costs $43 EACH! With other products, of course. He's super duper generous! I'd love to be his sister/ niece or something.

Okay okay, I should go prepare for dance practice already. Merry Christmas in advance, in case I can't blog anytime soon! :D I shall go shopping for christmas presents during my break in taka, or if not it's just royce for my dear friends! Hahaha, I hope they don't mind!

20 December 2008
Christmas is coming! 9:38 PM

Yay more people I know visited me today! :D
There's Sean, Tang Yiling, Steffi and Petrina.
Yesterday Liz and Chester visited me too!

People there come to work SO on time. I miscalculated my timings and reached at 8.50am, when my shift starts at 9.30am. I punched my card, went into the half-dark b2 food hall with other people working at other booths, and waited. No one came. It was only exactly 9.30am (I think), when my colleague working in royce too popped over and said hi, with the jap manager. Yeah and then people started coming in. Hehe there was this national anthem thing, something like an opening ceremony, when a representative of each booth has to stand in front of the booth and everyone else stays still. Then at the end of the anthem, every one bow, and customers and managers walk in through the front door and customers start shopping. That was interesting! Ad pretty amusing for me I guess. :)

Christmas is coming, omg royce chocs is soooooo busy! I keep repeating the same thing over and over again, but I kind of like it actually. It's just that my throat gets really dry. Stocks run out so fast, and I'm always pretty sorry for the customers when they can't get what they want, especially the champagne chocs and nutty bars. It's never good to go christmas shopping last minute! Just that the nama chocs are heavenly, but it's diff to buy early 'cos you'll have to store them in the freezer.

Orchard Road is so crowded at night, I have to squeeze through the whole crowd of people between Ngee Ann City and Wisma to get to the MRT station. I would love to enjoy the performances and roadshows, but I'm alone! :( Yeah, no one happens to stay in the east. I have to go for break alone too! We can't go in pairs 'cos there're too many customers to attend to. I always pull JC out to accompany me! Hehe lucky there's a friend working in the same place as me. I've been interacting so much, I feel so weird being alone! We walked through taka, wisma, back to taka, then to cineleisure, and back to my booth, and my 1-hour break's not even fully utilised yet! Haha I'll appreciate a friend so much to come and visit me and accompany me during break time! I'll sneak some choc samples! Hehe. :D

I realised I have 2 scary blisters on my left leg now. There's this big swollen round one and then a weird longish looking one. Arrrgh. Court shoes are really irritating, although they do make me look smart with my white long sleeves and black long pants.

PM shift tomorrow again! 12.30pm to 9.30pm. I shall go rest now. Byebye!

19 December 2008
Royce chocolates 10:32 AM

I'm taking 10min with my bro's comp to blog about yesterday before I bathe and run off to taka again. :D

I love doing sales! Hahaha it's just so fun! And royce chocolates is really busy. People buy stacks of chocolates, and shop by the hundreds. I liked attending to customers and recommending them chocolates. We were so busy I skipped lunch and dinner. But I get occasional choc-highs by eating their samples, so I stay cheerful all the time. :)

When I finally reached home, I was dead beat. And I realised I had big burst blisters at the back of my leg! :( No wonder I was in pain when I walked around in my court shoes at the later part of the day. I shall never touch court shoes/ covered high heels for a long time after my job ends.

Made lots of friends too. I worked with Michelle and Wani yesterday. Lol! There was this guy who tried to smile at me from the Harrods booth opposite my booth, and I didn't realise he was smiling at me for quite awhile. Omg that was pretty embarrassing. But I was busy with customers, so I didn't really notice him after that. He came over when I was attending to a customer to look at the chocs I think, and then went back. JC had the morning shift yesterday, and he came over to say bye when I was still working. No fair!

Hehe come visit me and I will give you samples! I seriously need to run now, byebye!

MODELLING FOR FLIRTYNIGHTS 9:02 PM

Modelling is fun! :D

Me, D (owner of flirtynights), Shar (owner of glamourgirls), Yijie

Angelina came with me today to go to Botanical Gardens for my modelling trials. We got lost taking the wrong bus! The board at the Dhoby bus stop said 171 goes to opp Botanical Gardens. We counted 9 stops, went wayy past 9 stops and I later found out from the driver that we passed by Botanical Gardens long long time ago. -.- Then after that we alighted from the bus and had to take 174 (the correct bus) for 10+ stops before we reached Botanical Gardens. And we weren't too late after all, 'cos the owner of the blogshop I'm modelling for was not there yet. :) Oh, and it's good to be responsible. 2/6 models turned up today, me and another girl, yijie, because the rest all overslept. -.- Yeah, they actually had the same reason! So in the end with 2 of us and 40 clothes, I posed with 22 pieces of clothes! That's really really cool for me. And I get to take pictures with lots of dresses. :D

On the way to finding a spot for our photoshoot, a guy approached me from under a pavillion asked me to eat a banana for him. -.- Yeah, and there were a group of guys laughing in the pavillion. Okay, maybe it's for a dare. I have no idea why I agreed to eat the banana, but I did. I thought angelina would want to share it with me! But she didn't. So I peeled the banana, took a bite, and gave it back to him. And I have no idea why I did that too! Thinking back now, it would have looked quite weird. Maybe I didn't want to throw the banana away for him. Oh well, I'm nice to have already eaten the banana! :)

The banana looked like this when I returned it to the guy. Omg I think I'm weird.

I also realised I look unglam wearing heels. Maybe it's because I'm not used to it. And makeup is really troublesome! Hehe thank goodness I didn't have to do it for myself. I had eyeliner and fake eyelashes on again, it felt like the time I was in the salon doing make up for prom. Fake eyelashes bring gloom to your eyes, sighh. I think I'll never be able to apply eyeliner on myself, and I don't really want to do that anyway.

After the whole photoshoot which ended at about 4pm, I felt hungryyy! Shar/D's boyfriend treated me and angelina to iced lemon tea after the photoshoot. It helped, thank you! :) Okay, I attempted a last minute diet and skipped proper lunch today. Well... I had a mr bean redbean pancake? Haha nevermind! Today was so satisfying. :) Heh after that Angelina and I took the bus back to Orchard where we took neoprints at Cineleisure and she found some juicy gossip when we went to Heeren!

THIS PARAGRAPH IS DEDICATED TO ANGELINA, as promised. Omg thank you so much for accompanying me today! I hope it didn't bore you out too much. Hehe but we did have fun after that, taking nice neoprints and walking around orchard (except for the fact that our legs hurt so much because of our heels) right? :) May your phone get well soon too!

[edit] PICTURES! Here's to "Flower Power"! :D

NEOPRINTS! (These photos are taken from the neoprint machine when decorating so lighting may be a bit weird.)

I'm working for Royce Chocolates tomorrow! ^^

11 December 2008
Royce chocolates! (: 5:07 PM

YES I'm working for ROYCE! :D *jumps around in excitement*

I was waiting for my call, but no one called so I couldn't resist the urge to call. And then I found out my name was already on the schedule for the taka branch with vivian and xiaoping. :D So I went to suntec to submit my photocopied I/C today. Thank goodness I called!

Oh and I realised JC's working in taka too! He's like working at a booth for testing toys at B2, while I'm working at B1. So I can see him in his tie heehee. His job sounds nice though!

I'm looking forward to 19 December. ^^

08 December 2008
First day of work 11:45 AM

I enjoyed my first day of work at Raffles Hotel yesterday. :D

I still remember what the manager Jason briefed us:

Wedding couple
Raymas & Corrine

25 tables
3 vegetarian tables
2 muslim tables

Drinks for the day
Cocktail reception- soft drinks (coke, sprite, orange, diet coke) and beer
Dinner- soft drinks, beer and wine

It's a wedding banquet! Actually I was dreading doing banquets 'cos I'm not so confident of carrying sharks fin soup on my shoulder with an oval tray which is really quite heavy, but I was new so the manager appointed me and a few others to serve drinks. My job yesterday was fairly easy, but it's real tiring too. Cass had to do the table, and it was the first time she was doing a chinese wedding dinner. I tried to observe how the people were serving the food, and realised they didn't really follow the way they were thought in TCCIHS (the hotel school). Especially the putting-one-spoon (fork)-and-spoon (fork) between the fingers of one hand to scoop food like thongs/ chopsticks.

Gee, the ambience was really nice in the banquet. When the wedding couple came in, there were waitors pouring dry ice at the entrance to create a smoky effect when the came in, and through the route there were more waitors and waitresses pouring dry ice too. Omg I felt so happy for them I felt like crying! The slideshow before the wedding couple came in already brought tears of joy in my eyes. And the song playing when they walked in was "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge. It was so sweet, and the bride is really pretty! And later they went up to stage to make their marriage vows, and cut the wedding cake. I would've swooned in happiness for them before I remembered I was working. I want to hold my wedding banquet in Raffles Hotel! :)

I realised I DO like to get out of trouble by smiling. And so far I haven't gotten into more trouble after smiling (and apologising, of course), so I guess I don't really have to do something about it hee. Actually I think I'm the most cheerful waitress around! :)

I still have much to learn though! I realised I didn't know how to refill chinese tea. -.- I almost wanted to just pour some warm water at the bar into the teapot when my friend (actually I'd made a lot of friends there) stopped me. I was supposed to go into the pantry, take out the tin of tealeaves and put some in, then add hot water.

Oh, and after the banquet we cleared up everything and prepared for today's events, like sorting out the exact number of utensils on large oval trays and setting tables. I was asked to refill toothpicks in the toothpick holder and my perfectionism acted up again, with me stuffing toothpicks into the toothpick holders and making sure every holder looked full, neat and standardized. I actually like doing saikang! Haha. And after we were done with our ballroom we had to help out at Casuarina Suite, which had a Christmas party for the British alumni earlier on. It was about 12.30am then. And after that we were finally finished our work! :) We booked out at 1.30am, and waited for the bus to come fetch us home.

Pretty lights on the roads of City Hall when we were all sitting on the roadside waiting for the bus like illegal workers reminded me that Christmas's coming! I never really enjoyed Christmas lights since I hardly go out to town at night. Yeah, and later my bus came, we boarded the bus and the driver started to send the few of us living in the east home. I was the last one to drop, since my home was so far off! I only reached home at 2.30am, and my parents were up waiting for me. Thank goodness today is a holiday, or else I'd really have tired them out for work today. My upper-arms are still feeling like jelly now. It's okay, optimistic me thinks that I'll grow nice muscles on my arms soon if I continue working like that! :D

Tired but satisfying. My hard-earned money is rolling in~

--------------

Earlier on yesterday: JLPT
It was easy! Well, I was taking Level 3 so it's pretty much of my standard. It was like HSK. But I totally flunked my listening. There was no repeat and I wasn't used to that, 'cos my brain works slow in translating and I was guessing possible answers with the information I'd translated in time. I can read and write japanese, but I just can't listen to japanese! Oh well. I'm pretty sure I can ace my other two components which are vocab (100 marks) and grammar (200 marks), so I should be able to pass the test (we only need to pass with 60% and that's the highest level you see on your cert- a pass, there are no distinctions or anything) since the listening compnent costs me 100 marks.

--------------

I didn't meet with Liz to go for the car boot flea market after all! Yeah, rushing from Nanyang Girls' School to Kallang MRT station via bus took a really long time, and I figured by the time I find my way to ECP Big Splash after I get lost and everything I would meet Liz and have to leave, since she had to leave at about 2pm for her piano lesson later. Anyway I found out from her that Elvin Ng's jacket was on AUCTION AT 100 BUCKS! I have no idea who got it and paid how much for it in the end, but 100 bucks was way more than what I'd expected to pay (if it was on first-come-first-serve like last year, I would expect $30- hehe), so there was not much reason for me to travel down and get lost for a normal flea market anyway. I'm so sorry Liz! But she had good buys though. And I had fun eating lunch with Yiling and Cindy at SUBWAY singpost haha. I missed their sandwiches! Gossiped a bit before we left.

I shall book my schedule for work next week with my in-charge soon! :D

I was so excited I had to take a photo of myself in my uniform. I have a nametag too, which is not in the picture. Lol I realised everyone has fake names! I was "Queen" for the day while Cass was "Red". There were fellow waitresses joking and asking me where is my King! Hahaha.

Car boot flea market- again! 9:38 PM

I borrowed Camp Rock from Video Ezy today and watched it in the afternoon. :) I thought it was nice! There was lots of singing and dancing, it felt like another one of the HSM movies.

This was the closest Shane Grey and Mitchie could get! No kissing scenes sighh. ^^

This is real, this is me
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be now
Gonna let the light shine on me

You're the voice I hear inside of my head
The reason that I'm singing
I need to find you, I gotta find you

Heh. I liked these lines best.

I'm going for the 8days car boot flea market with Liz again! This time she initiated it, she wants to get some branded bag donated by Zoe Tay. No celebs to kiss this time though. Ooh Elvin Ng's donated a PURPLE ADIDAS JACKET! :) I do want to get it, but I'm not going to be able to reach there early to grab the jacket 'cos I'm rushing from my JLPT all the way at Nanyang Girls School (at Bukit Timah) to Big Splash at ECP, and my exam only ends at 12.30pm. So I'm gonna depend on Liz to get there early to get it for me first, and I'll meet her later. I know, it's another weird want of mine, but I'll let fate decide whether I'm the next owner of the jacket hee. Perhaps it'll be bought by Elvinology fans yet again, like the big teddy bear last year. I'm quite happy for them actually, 'cos after all I'm in the fan club too! :)

I'm not studying for my JLPT. Yes, I'm guilty, but I can't really help it. They're all MCQ questions, and I really hope my luck's good tomorrow! Okay, so there's JLPT, car boot flea market and Raffles Hotel job to rush for tomorrow. My day's only going to end at 1.30am at Raffles Hotel. -.- I'm so going to sleep in at home on Monday!

My first attempt at photoshop! :D Hahaha I think it's not bad already, although I didn't do much. Yay I made a banner for my blogshop!

Stayed at home the whole day since it was raining. I finally had decent time to rest! But I made today efficient too; did some work and felt pretty good about myself. I guess I have full day dance on my schedule tomorrow. And after last dance practice before block week next monday, I can work properly already! :)

That is, if I find do find a job last minute. I'm still harbouring hope on my royce chocolates job though.

WILD CHILD 9:37 PM

WILD CHILD was nice! :D

I watched it with Liz, after year 4'09 orientation dry run. It's a very fn chick flick to watch with a girlfriend! Funny, romantic and touching. Both Liz and I agreed that Alex Pettyfer (Freddie) is hot! :D He's like the only guy present in the girls' school (as the headmistress's son), but he's more than enough! And somehow we just had to compare with the situation in dunman high. XD

Wild Child poster. :D

The girls dressed up for the school's social night.

Poppy and Freddie. AWWW. :)

Their "secret date", one of poppy's plan to get expelled so that she could return to Malibu.

(This is not in the movie.) Omg Alex Pettyfer and Emma Roberts look so cute together!

I shall record this funny bit. After the movie, we were going down the escalators of TM when I commented that I sensed that it was raining. I really did; it was a feeling. We weren't able to see the weather conditions inside the mall, and Liz said if it was raining I would have super powers or something. Haha and it WAS really raining! :) Oh well, I guess it's a coincidence, since it rains so much these days. And this time I'm equipped with my umbrella! I'm convinced that no guardian angel would come and save me at the bus stop when I'm waiting for the rain to stop hehe.

Oh, I shall note down my schedule for the week here, so I feel more organised. :)

Monday: Dance (afternoon) - CHECK
Tuesday: Year 4'09 orientation dry Run + movie with Liz - CHECK
Wednesday: Dance (afternoon)
Thursday: FREE! [for the time being]
Friday: Full-day dance
Saturday: Dance (morning)
Sunday: JLPT + first day of work at Raffles Hotel!

Gosh. I need to study my jap soon, with JLPT on sunday. I think I've gone all rusty already!
Next week is much better 'cos it's the school's block week- no dance! Which would be a great time for me to crash work and earn money. But I want another job, instead of a hotel waitress! Like my pending royce chocolates job. I hope I get informed of the meeting with the manager soon! :) Tried asking a couple more restaurants today and they need people who can commit. Sighh.

I shall also note down a list of movies I'm interested to see before I forget:
1. Twilight - I need to find out for myself why a whole lot of girls are going crazy over the book! :)
2. Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist - I think it's going to be romantic, hee.
3. Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging - I have no idea what is it about; the poster just looks interesting.

I certainly feel more organised now. I shall rest for dance tomorrow. Night! :D
