Speech day holiday 7:56 PM

Ooh I actually have a colours award! :D It's my first time receiving it, and it's very pretty! I didn't know until Yi'an passed it to me when I came to school for cha guan test. It reminded me of the good o' times I had in comp team. I'm glad we managed to clinch 1st for zone comp and 3rd for nat comp last year, a nice ending to my SJ life. And I remember how my dad dropped my 3rd prize trophy and a part chipped off from the cup! :( I was really saddened by it, but I guess this award can make up for it.

Cha guan test was, okay I guess. I think I lost quite a lot of marks in the second question; I didn't complete a 12 mark portion! :( I didn't have enough time. Gosh I should really remember to bring a watch so I can keep track of time.

After that I had PW meeting with Jie Qi, Melinda and Zina. We were pretty efficient and finished our timeline in one hour! :) Now I'm beginning to realise why people saw PW is a chore. I used to look forward to it and thought it would be fun. Speaking about PW, I wasted 20 pieces of paper doing my PI. I re-printed my final PI multiple times for the most absurd reasons. I actually feel guilty; but if I don't re-print I'd feel really uneasy about it, because of that tiny little flaw.

I need to go type out CLEP meeting minutes now. I have to translate my english notes to chinese. -.- Byebye!

Global warming is getting to me. ): 9:56 PM

The hot weather is killing me!

Omg and I took a mrt with a spoilt aircon when I went home today, after Spinelli dinner cum practical research with Yi Jie, Si Min and Zina, James. Stubborn me didn't want to get out of the train because I didn't want to waste that couple more minutes waiting for another train, so I stayed in the suffocating cabin from Bugis to Pasir Ris.

I had my NAPFA test today, 5 stations. Omg I could've clinched a nice gold if not for my standing board jump! :( Sigh why are the expectations for SBJ so high. I did 40 sit-ups, 20 IPUs and 54cm for sit-and-reach, but my SBJ killed me. I got a 'D'. 5cm more to getting a gold! Wanted to get a retest but got chased out by some PE teacher 'cos the next batch was coming. I'm so going to retest during PE or something. Rumour has it that if you want to retest one station you have to retest ALL 5 stations, I really hope not! :x

Oh and I luckily got myself voted into CLEP exCO today morning. I was interested in getting in 'cos I wanted to do something more prominent for our school. Heh thanks people who voted for me! I'll try my very very best. :D So now the new year 5 exCO consists of Yu Hui, Ding Sen, Karmen, Seeting and me, with Yu Hui already voted as the chairperson. :) Congrats! Hopefully I can be the secretary haha. Or even VP, though I'm not sure if I'm actually up to it, but I'll put in my best effort no matter what post I get la.

Oh no, I'm pretty broke nowadays. Must've been treating people too much. I spent like $12.80 on my Spinelli dinner today, consisting of a originally $7.00 chicken sandwich (Ooh they had 50% discount promos for sandwiches! Must note it down for econs proj. :D And that the prices they charged are slightly too exaggerating.), Cookie spin and an apple-cinnamon muffin (requested by James to "share" with him). And practically half of my meal was cleared by the people with me. -.- AHEM especially James. Conclusion: I should stop treating people until I recover some of my cash.

Maths test is tomorrow! Oh no. GC please cooperate with me! There're like quite a few times when I'm supposed to get a curvy line and I get a straight line instead. Actually it must've been something wrong I'd pressed. But hopefully I won't get misled by my GC in the test! :x

I'm gulping loads of water down my throat now. It's freaking hot!

And pig-fluenza sounds scary. Singaporeans should like stop eating pork. God bless us that this disease would disappear soon. And that global warming can change for the better. :) Thank you!

Legendary me. :D 11:08 PM

No worries, I'm back to my normal and happy self today. :)

And I just found out I'm actually a 传说! xD Well, this guy called Ding Sen suddenly came into the LC and joined us at our table where James, Si Min, Zina and I were sitting after school. Okay, so he knows Si Min (guitar mates) and a bit of James, but he didn't know Zina and me so we introduced ourselves. When I told him I'm 可芸, he was like, "原来你就是传说中的可芸!" O.O Okay I didn't know I was so well known. Then he explained how 吴老师 mentions me once in a while in his CLL class, that was how he heard of me. We started probing what 吴老师 says about me during his CLL lesson, but he didn't say anything. Hmmm, suspicious. Then he said he remembers my name because there was a character named 可芸 in some show called 情深深雨蒙蒙. Hahaha amusing conversation. Apparently he had a lot of '新发现's when he was talking to us. I had one 新发现 (him) too! I'd seen him around and thought he was a year 6. So he was the famous person who had his GPA score of 4.0 shown to the whole cohort! xD

I shall thank people who offered/ agreed to help me after I'd requested to carry my bags of OCIP shirts. I actually managed to lug them to school haha, but thank you for helping me carry the bags around school! ^^ Yay and I'd given out most of the shirts to the people already. :) I'm only left with 3 more to clear, including Zina's because she's broke. And after much hounding and nagging I managed to squeeze $0.80/ $1.00 from James, the money he owed me for the final payment of the shirt. Omg it's really diff to squeeze money out of this rich guy. -.- Okay on the account that he helped me to carry one of my bags of ocip tees I shall forgo the $0.20 hahaha. Sorry for being slightly unfair to the other people! :x

Anyway, we had ocip trip briefing today. Had a bit of trouble with the groupings though. Ahhh James and his badminton mates are going with CSC to one village while Si Min, Zina and me are going to another village! :( Sigh we were looking forward to having fun together. Oh well.

Yay and I completed my newly drafted PI! :D

21 April 2009
I'm not what you think I am 5:29 PM

Felt quite emo today, after my PI consultation first thing in the morning. :(

I don't know. I don't want any teachers to worry for me because of my blurness. I suddenly feel worried for my own blurness too. She said she knows that I'm hardworking and attentive during lessons, but I don't understand the lessons. But I do! Well, not to the extent that I know everything the teacher asks, but it's not supposed to be THAT bad. Okay actually I know she didn't mean to be hurtful, but I'm quite sensitive I guess, especially to that serious tone I'm not so used to. Self reflection: I'm stupid and useless and I should try to get off my happy-go-lucky and blur character and work harder.

Hoho. I listened to the facial person's advice for the first time, and ended up with a shiny/ oily face the rest of the day. Sam leck asked me about my face like early in the morning! xD Well, I applied some concentrated essence which could help make my pores smaller or something. I think I should just apply it at night haha.

On a happier note, happy birthday wayne! :)

18 April 2009
Yay SYF! :D 8:57 PM

Been pretty busy lately, so I didn't have time to update my blog. I shall blog about 3 days at one go:

18 April (today)

First ever outing to a karaoke lounge (Kbox). Yeah 16 years of my life I've never stepped into Kbox or Teoheng. Ooh it's really fun! :D I went with Si Min, Zina and James. I sang quite a lot of duets with James and Si Min. And I found out that 被风吹过的夏天 is my 主打歌 haha, because that was the only song I actually managed to sing properly, as commented by James. xD But Zina didn't dare to sing in the mike haha. She'd burst out laughing whenever we tried to get her to sing into the mike. So funny!

And oh, Zina and I were out dancing in school to practise for our publicity video today, and after that we went to buy a cake for Si Min, 'cos she was complaining how she didn't have a cake for her birthday this year, her parents went overseas. So we went to Breadtalk and bought her a chocolate cake. I suggested it hehheh. The cake looked like this:

But what happened as a nice post-birthday surprise became a chocolate nightmare, for the four of us. We bought the classic size, which should be the 1kg one, and there were only four of us to finish the whole cake. So each of us ate about 1/4 of the cake! O.O Omg it was so sinful and totally fattening, especially the thick goo-ey chocolate top. We ate a slice each at Kbox and finished less than half of the cake, and after the Red Cliff talk in school we went to the canteen and attempted to finish the rest of the cake, which we did, 'cos Si Min said there was nobody in her house to eat the cake, except her maid. HAHA! And James was still going for a steamboat dinner after that. The rest of us planned to skip dinner after forcing the cake down our mouths. Actually, the cake was really not bad; but not if you actually try to finish 1/4 of the 1kg cake! That's like, 4 servings already. The law of diminishing marginal utility applies so well for this situation hahaha. xD I'm currently so sick of chocolate I don't think I'll eat any chocolates for at least a month. :x

Oh, and they accompanied me around after Kbox to shop for presents, before we left for school. Omg I'm so fickle-minded! I was like "Orange or blue? Orange or blue?" I couldn't make up my mind and kept asking the 3 of them. I finally reached a decision, which was orange, after much convincing from them. It was the colour which first attracted me anyway. The rest of the colours just look weird/ inappropriate. I took so long we were going to be late for the Red Cliff talk in school, and I had to treat them to a taxi ride, but I couldn't pay first 'cos I only had 4 bucks with me (all because I spent like over $200 paying for the rest of the OCIP tees; people please return me $$ soon 'cos I'm like super broke! :x). And on the taxi ride I was still reciting "Orange or blue? Orange or blue?" (It was something customised and I had to collect it later, but I had to rush back to school so I told the person to give me 10mins to change my mind after I'd left and if there were no calls from me it'd be the initial choice I'd made- orange.) But I didn't call back after 10mins, so the guy would've gone ahead with orange even if I decide to change my mind. And during the Red Cliff talk, I couldn't help but still think about the colours. And then something struck me, "What about GREEN?" xD But Si Min commented the green looked exactly like the colour of the golf course, and if you throw the thing on the grass you wouldn't even be able to find it 'cos the colour blends in so well, so I guess maybe not. And the blue was really quite a weird shade. OH WELL! Anyway after school I went back to collect the thing and the person showed me the thing, and it DOES look nice in orange. :) And I looked at the blue and the green again, and they still looked pretty weird. Okayy end of story! But all this fickle-mindedness was all because I don't really know what colour the person likes/ dislikes. Maybe I know the likes, but there were really limited choices and the other colours just didn't feel suitable haha. End of story!

17 April

Happy Birthdays! :D To MY BRO, LEE SI MIN, LIANG LAOSHI and JUSTIN'S BRO. Actually for Liang laoshi and Justin's bro, they aren't exactly closely related to me, but this is just to show how many people had their birthdays on 17 April hahaha. Anyway, after school I went out with Yi Jie to Tampines to shop for *presents and I had to collect OCIP tees. Omg the the 2 bags of 39 OCIP tees were freaking heavy and thank goodness I had Yi Jie's help; at least while I was walking around Tampines Mall and Tampines 1, I still had to carry the 2 bags back home of course. Yay our tees turned out real pretty! And it's all thanks to Si Hui haha.

16 April- SYF! :D

Omg GOLD GOLD GOLD! I'm super happy haha. It came as a nice surprise; 'cos we didn't exactly perform our very best on stage. For me, I was pretty nervous and my mind was like blank throughout the whole dance so I very much depended on my feelings when I danced; like how it felt when I was practising in school, so my steps came out naturally. Thank goodness we practised for months! :) But I couldn't develop my feelings in the dance much though, 'cos I wasn't even thinking.

Here are some photos!

Yippee! :D

It's actually here. 9:54 PM

SYF's tomorrow! xD

Waking up at 4.30am consecutively these 2 days so that I can reach school by 6.30am for dance in the morning before flagraising, together with the extra dance lessons after school totally drained me out. I think today afternoon's dance practice was the most productive for me. I had a crash course to perfect my dance moves, and I finally understood where were my problems and worked them out. :)

Skipped pe today because Mr Chew said people who have SYF tomorrow cannot run. Missed a 2.4km training with my classmates, which is not exactly a very good thing since napfa test's like next monday. o.o And I felt I haven't exercised enough this week. But omg, by the end of today I had no energy left. And I'm feeling weak and sore from head to toe, I can't even sit properly because my butt hurts for some reason. Yikes. It's not a good sign since SYF's tomorrow. Maybe a night's sleep would help. Oh no, I need to wake up at 4.30am againnn! It's really quite an unearthly hour to wake up at, especially since I sleep at 12am. I think my body routine is screwed for this week. But it's okayy, 'cos I know I'm working hard for something I really like. :) Though I can't help getting tired at times.

But we worked so hard for this day, cannot let it go to waste! I'll remember all that I've learnt and put in my very best for SYF tomorrow. A big thank you to everyone who has helped me with my dance steps, especially to dora, joanna, zina, samantha, angelina, yuehuan and many many more. Hopefully we can achieve our goal of a gold award! :D

Jiayou!

Kudos to the new "Funeral" family ad! 7:53 PM

"Oh you might find this all very funny,
But towards the end of his life when his illness was at its worst,
These sounds indicated to me that my David was still alive.
And what I wouldn’t give just to hear those sounds again before I sleep.
In the end, it’s these small things that you remember,
Little imperfections that make them perfect for you.
So to my beautiful children,
I hope one day you too find yourselves life partners
Who are as beautifully imperfect as your father was to me."

This is the most heartfelt ad I've ever seen. When I watched the ad for the first time on tv, I really felt like crying.

Yasmin Ahmad's the director of this ad; she's the one making the funeral speech. She's also the director of the "Family" ad, which just won gold award in Viewers' Choice recently.

No matter how imperfect our lives are, we should enjoy ourselves and treasure the times with our family and friends! :)

Dance 9:02 PM

I overslept today and had to take taxi to school, and I reached just in time after all. :) But the opportunity cost of more sleep is $12.80! Oh well, I hardly oversleep, so it's okay. Yay some of us had our costumes ready today, so me, Zina and Liujia changed into the full costume. This is what it looks like:

Heh actually the costume is quite pretty. But clumsy me kept tripping over my skirt during practice today! xD Very unglam eh, I stepped on my skirt and it gets pulled down, and it's quite embarrassing when I'm in the first row (starting pose) and I have a male teacher staring at me. Somemore the leotard is quite obscene, need to keep adjusting.

Motivation for me to diet for the next 2 weeks: To look nicer in my SYF costume! :/

After dance in the morning we went to KFC for lunch! :D People in red were going for dance CIP, Y Dance Outreach Programme.

After lunch the seven of us year fives who were going for dance cip all squeezed into the back of Weijia's parents' car! So Zina, me, Anthea and Weijia sat on the seat while Ningli, Angelina and Yuehuan sat on us. Omg it's such a close bonding session! Hahaha.

We even had the mood to camwhore hehe. Not my idea this time though! Oh and on the trip we saw police cars and we ducked here and there, hoping to look like "3 fat men", so that we won't get fined or something. But apparently the police didn't even care yay. :)

Anyway, CIP at Bishan Home was pretty fun. Interacted with mentally disabled residents of the home, and performed for them. My buddy was quite shy! :/ He didn't talk to me much. It's quite disheartening when most of the other buddies are quite hyper and mine's so softspoken. Oh he looks like he's about 60 years old.

Okay I think I shall do my homework now. Tomorrow's gonna be a long day again. SYF dance rehearsal at NUS. So farrrrr!

02 April 2009
A very blunderful day. xD 6:45 PM

AHHH I made so many blunders today, it's scary.

1. In the morning, my mum asked me "Did you leave your jacket in school?" and it was then that I found out my jacket wasn't at home since Tuesday, when I last brought it to school. I gave a pretty convincing "Yeah, I left it in school." and started to ponder why I didn't have my jacket with me after school on Tuesday. Then I remembered James borrowed my jacket during CLL (last) lesson on Tuesday and I didn't have it after that. So I went to school, and told Zina how my jacket should be in the CLL room and blah blah and after that she placed my jacket on the table! She'd brought it home for me after CLL lesson that day, when she saw that it was left on the front of James' side of the table. Thank you Zina! :) Heh, and she was waiting for me to ask about it yesterday, and I never did! I totally didn't realise my jacket was missing till my mum asked me about it today. xD

2. I "lost" my pink pencil-eraser when I was doing my work in the learning centre, and I was making a big fuss of it in the room because I needed it to do my maths homework. So I called people in the canteen and asked whether I'd left it there, but Si Hui told me she didn't see it. And after everything and it was finally time for us to go for our lessons, I packed my stuff and found it in between my yellow ring file! Whoops.

3. I kind of forgot my jacket again and only realised it was missing when someone in the CLL room commented it was cold. Yes, I'd left it in the learning centre! So I went back to the room, feeling quite paiseh because I made quite a lot of noise before that, and went in to get my jacket. I kind of reasoned out why I didn't notice my jacket and take it with me: It was camouflaged with the dark grey chair haha.

4. I forgot my GP lecture notes! I only only realised it when we were in the learning centre again and Si Min commented about how she'd left her GP notebook in class. I'd left my lecture notes in an Isetan bag in the canteen for the whole morning, and only realised it like, in the afternoon! I probably wouldn't even have realised if Si Min didn't make that comment. Gee, I was quite worried about my stack of mass media notes 'cos I'd binded it nicely and everything, but after that I rushed to the canteen and with much effort, I found it on the canteen table (w/o my paper bag, though), intact. Thank goodness!

5. During Maths lesson today, Mrs Cheau was asking for a G.C. She was like, "Can I have a G.C.?" and started to walk around the lt. She was approaching me, so I handed out my G.C. with a blank screen to her. And she said, "Oh, no, I don't want a G.C., I want to see you all try out the question and show it to me. I have a G.C." Omg! But she sounded like she wanted to borrow a G.C. to me...

Oh, and Zina and James were going to donate blood, and me and Si Min accompanied them to the place. On the way, I made a comment, "Maybe I can donate some of my (blur) blood too." And Zina said, "Nono, people who get your blood will die! They come out of the hospital will trip and fall already!" xD Heh, that was funny. But AHHHH I don't want to be blur.

Hmmm. During GP lecture today, Ms Teo showed us a MV called "Concrete Angel". It was about the child abuse. Omg and I was watching the MV, listening to the lyrics carefully (or maybe it's because the singer's voice was really clear), and I started CRYING. It was embarrassing! I was in the auditorium with loads of people. But I couldn't help myself eh, I was overwhelmed with emotions when I watched how the girl had bruises on her hands and stuff. But then she had this guy who was super nice to her all the while, but the ending was quite spooky, and really sad. But do watch the MV on youtube if you haven't, it's pretty meaningful.

Oh, but besides the whole list of stupid things I'd done today, I did something helpful too! I found Yi Jie's wallet in the canteen (she'd left it on the table and went to comp lab to play games during free period) and I kept it for her. :D

I think I'm considered quite a lucky person hee. Although I'm very prone to losing stuff, I have nice friends who just unintentionally remind me that I have things missing and so far, I'd recovered all my things (at least, for today). I just made a resolution that I shall not lose anymore things for the rest of the week. And it should be pretty easy to accomplish, since the end of the school week is tomorrow! :)

Omg and James played an April Fool's joke on me shortly after midnight yesterday, when April Fool's just ended. He asked me to accept a song over msn to change for our class blog. It was titled as a jap song. I clicked on it, and the national anthem started playing! -.- And apparently I did not realise it was an April Fool's trick, and was wondering how come the jap song's tune sounded so much like majulah singapura! It was only when I asked James then I found out that it's a prank ahh. xD

I think my geog general knowledge improved quite a bit this week. Classmates were testing me about the capitals of countries, and I didn't know quite a lot of then. Now I'd found out Australia's capital is Canberra, India's capital is New Delfi and blah.

The worse answer I'd given was:

Nicole Lee (I think): What's the capital of Singapore?
Me (exclaimed excitedly, thinking I would be correct): CITY HALL!

And the whole class burst out laughing.

Yes, now I know the capital of Singapore is "Singapore City".

I also know now that US does not equal to UK,
and Turkey is not in Latin America.

Hehe.
