The End
PROM NIGHT was fun! :)
Hmmm. Woke up early yesterday and prepared for the evening. Then I had to leave home at about 1.15pm for a lunch bite at White Sands and then headed off to the salon to do my hair and makeup. Wenyi came to the salon soon after me. Yeah, we were doing hair and makeup together heh. OMG the hairstylist designed some volumous hair for me! Gee, I really thought I looked like a lion when I saw my final look. I had some classic prom-girly hair style in mind but in the end I just followed the hairstylist's suggestion, as usual. But I do have quite a few nice comments from my friends anyway, so I guess it doesn't look too bad hee. :) I liked Wenyi's hairstyle though! She had this olden shanghai taitai look; I think it must be because of the retro dress haha. The hairstylist would've designed our hairstyles based on hairlength and dress I think. There was not much difference in our makeup though. I think I'm supposed to look like some jewellery ad model or something; a couple of people actually said I look like Marilyn Monroe! Hmmm. Who's that? Oh, I'd found a picture of her:
(I think it's the dress)
Oh well! Haha I think the prom was very well planned! Kudos to prom comm. :D There were so many good looking people in pretty dresses/ cool suits! I realise I always dress for the location, and not occasion. -.- I think I had this I'm-going-to-a-pub look! The games were really amusing! Hee. Especially when couples came out and the girl had to make milk for the guy/ baby to drink. But it would've been more fun if my company was highh. The last ten minutes of the prom was the time when the highh people were really high while the not-so-highh people just wouldn't budge. I was trying to make my friends shake with me but they didn't so I decided I shouldn't be highh alone since the people I don't know around me weren't too haha. But the songs were so upbeat, everyone should just groove to the music! :) It's my first time in a pub though, and I'm really not so used to the atmosphere, although I have to say it's pretty cool. I don't think I'll really go to such a place when I grow up though; it's a bit too loud for me heh.
The FOOD was good too. The sushi platters were cleared pretty fast when dinner officially started but there were lots of other nice food, such as some herb fillet and mushroom tart thing. The deserts were pretty nice too. Well, we paid 50 bucks for the prom, so most people ate their fill hee. Yeah, and Wen Yi and I decided to give up on our lipstick for the delicious food. :)
I didn't bring a camera so I'd taken photos using other people's cameras and koped them off facebook. I hope there're more photos! Here's a few:
Wenyi and me, on the train, late after doing our makeup and hair!
Pmz and me!
Jia Yi, me and Nicole. Heh everyone says Jia Yi looks like she's in a wedding dress!
Wen Yi, me, Cass and Jia Yi.

Wei Jie and me.

Audrey, XH, Candice and me! Heh heh Candice was supposed to look sexy. :D

Eli and me!
AND on our way home after prom was over, we were walking down vivocity when I spotted a man covered all over except half of the face. I got slightly intimidated, and thought it was some practice by a religion or something. And I looked down and I saw that he was holding a sword! Man, I got totally freaked out; I thought he was an assassin! Then after that I saw the people around him (all of them were caucasians) and that they were all in weird costumes. And THEN I realised it's a Halloween party! Hahaha, I sure am slow! But the people are really slow in celebrating Halloween though, it's long over! :)
TODAY was dance practice. Yeah, it's in the afternoon, so I had a nice long sleep. :D I could only sleep at about 1am because I had to tame my hair and remove my makeup and then bathe! That was troublesome. I don't like makeup, but I thought it was necessary for an event like prom. The fake eyelashes were cool; but I don't even know how to put them on again! I'm so not going to dress up for a while. Prom cost me a whole lot of money; about $300! I'm like very sadly broke now. I think the next time I would dress up would be SJ's 40th anniversary dinner at the end of next month. That actually doesn't sound very far, eh? :/
Anyway I'm liking modern dance more and more! Not that I'm actually too good at it or something. But I'd heard about the music today; and it sounded majestic. And when I matched it with the dance steps, omg I'm reminded of some sad romantic scene! Like a couple breaking apart. I don't know... but it's just really cool to be able to do the dance with the music. Which I can't, at this moment, I'm still at the follow-the-leader stage. Liu lao shi came in to look over today, and she bought us cakes for tea! :D There were swiss rolls and pandan cake. She's ever so nice hee, it's good to have her as a teacher-in-charge!
I'm in a romantic mood today. Perhaps it got stronger after dance. Hmmm. I tried repeating some things I've done with someone special, and tried walking down a place the same way I did with the person (I happened to pass by that place). Well... and normally in TV serials, you'll meet that person! But I didn't, of course. Okay, I guess it's actually only about 1% chance such a scene would happen in real life. And that 1% chance must be fate! Hahaha. Awwww. Yeah, and two days before it was raining so heavily after dance practice, it was then again another day I was too lazy to bring out an umbrella. I walked down the path to the bus stop in front of Pasir Ris MRT station, and in the crowd of people waiting for the bus/ for the rain to stop, I prayed for someone to come along with a umbrella to walk home with me/ someone in a car whose parents could bring me home or something. And it never happened! Yeah, so I actually hailed a cab at the bus stop, and took a ride home which cost $4.30, although it would just be a 10-min walk. There was an extra surcharge of $1 because of peak hour I think, which was why it costed so much. Sigh, it's so difficult for a teeny bit of romance to happen in my life!
Hahaha, yeah that's all for now. Dance's probably gonna fill up much of my holidays, that I can't find a job to refill a bit of cash in my personal savings. But I really don't mind! I like what I'm doing anyway. I shall devote my time to my new CCA and CCA mates this holiday. :D
Gosh. I just had 2 consecutive days of dance practice!
Heh, thank goodness dance practice was postponed to 1.30pm today. I was soooo tired yesterday! I rushed down to school with Zina from class chalet early in the morning at 7am, because dance practice was at 8.30am. We just grabbed some breakfast from Macs in downtown east and walked to the MRT station. And slept all the way to Buona Vista heh. I only had a pathetic one decent hour of sleep because AHEM, four people were surrounding me on the bed and talking, namely Lee Yilin, Goh Yeling, Amy and Cassandra! Zina fell asleep pretty early in her sleeping bag, while I lay on the bed and couldn't help listening and contributing to their conversation once in a while. I finally managed to sleep when the Yeling and Cass went out to play Jia Yi's Wii and Amy turned off all the lights. And that was like, 4.35am! Oh, a group of us who were staying overnight went to watch HSM3. For me, it was AGAIN. -.- It's okay; I didn't mind watching it again, since I like HSM, but after all, I'm not used to paying for the same movie twice! Oh well, once in a while. I shared some combo with Cass and I got the HSM3 collectible cup! Hehehe. :D
Awww man. I'm aching from head to toe now. Neck, arms, waist, butt, and legs. Today deng lao shi taught us new steps; mainly steps which require us to ROLL on the floor. O.O Yeah, and the d&d room floor was hard! So we were practising the dance, and just roll-roll-rolled. The theme of the dance is about the sun and the sea I think; and I did feel like moving like the waves when doing the rolling steps. Gee, modern dance is so abstract! But it's indeed more suitable for me than hiphop; I went for hiphop auditions and just totally flopped it because my reaction's too slow and the steps are fast and require a lot of jerking! Heh, I think I made the supposed-to-look-cool steps look girly! Oops. But I like joining the modern dance family, and I like dancing this dance I'm learning for SYF next year. :D Although it's making me ache and I probably have bruises on my butt now, but I'm working out and actually having a lot of fun at the same time! Which is totally different from SJ. Shhhhh. Stayed on awhile after practice to have dance tuition with my senior, and Tang Yiling (she's new too). After that I was totally dead. In a sort of, accomplished and happy way. :)
Oh well. I need to work on my dance steps still; I can't remember them! And my splits too. But I shall put dance out of my mind for a while till next practice on Saturday, 'cos I have prom to worry about now. Urrgh. Prom prep's costing me so much money! I shall start saving up after that. I hope everything pays on Friday evening though!
I think I'm liking my Year5 CCA. Loads. :D
Oh, here's some photos from class chalet; when we were raiding the guys' room! Well... we only went in there 'cos Zina was teaching me dance moves and the girls' room was occupied. And the others just followed in, and tried the splits and other challenging moves with me, which most of them failed like me too, hee. Zina wanted to show these photos to the guys so they wouldn't even want to touch their beds! Hahaha.
Self-timer shot! :D
Omg Zina Tan is so funny! :)
More camwhoring!
Uhhh, this was a photo of both of us, ahem, going to do a split. Heh, and Zina wanted to show her muscles! :D
Alrighty. Good night!
CAMPUS SUPERSTAR 2009! :)
Omg, I'm soooo tired! This week is really happening haha. Woke up early in the morning to meet xun at 9am at Eunos, to take bus 93 to mediacorp. And she overslept and was late. -.- I was trying to negotiate the time (later) yesterday! Tsk tsk. But it was lucky we still went there early, because when we reached about 10am++, there was a queue outside mediacorp leading out onto the road already. Auditions start at 11am! But thank goodness xun's friend gina went there super early and was all the way at the front in the carpark, so we managed to, ahem, join her. :)
Then after that another one of xun's friend, yujie came too. Heh heh, and we managed to sneak her in to join us. Yeah, she came much later and the queue must've been really long by then. So there's four of us joining CS'09 together! :D Oh well, but all four of us got the "TEHHHH!" Yeah, we didn't get in. Well, I didn't harbour much hopes because I know it's really difficult for me to get in since I don't have singing experience and all, but I still had this glimmer of hope that the judges would be more lenient this this time and let the normal people in. But as far as I heard, we were the first 200 (the number starts from 1101 and I'm 1294) students who auditioned and only 15-20 people got in! O.O Yes, they are really strict! And somehow alot of guys got in. The girls received more "TEHHHHs", maybe because there're more girls in the first place, but... Oh well! At least they let me finish my chorus, which was an improvement from last last year! :D Some people were rejected when they only sang one word, I heard! Hey, that's really really mean. :( I don't know whether it's factual though. There are two audition rooms, one has all the famous judges like lin fei hui and lee wei song, but we didn't get them; instead we were judged by some unknown judges we'd never heard of before.
But I don't regret joining this competition! It was like a field trip to the inner part of mediacorp. We actually entered some restricted area for the audition I think; like not open to visitors. And it's kind of interesting seeing how the media works. Like reporters normally go for people that put on makeup because they look nicer on tv. -.- And how they actually work out a on-the-spot "script" for interviews to make it more juicy, like asking some guy participant to run away and hide behind a tree when he sees the hosts who are trying to interview them. Oh, we saw lai yi ling and lin cui fang wearing jap-school like uniform! Hahaha they look really cute. :D
Here are some photos!
The long long queue. This was taken wehen we were like, near registration!
You know, this time bringing a 4R photo was not mentioned in the rules and regulations of the application form. I was almost thinking of how the people are tired of throwing thousands of photos every year during the auditions, then I realised we have to take photos there at $2 each! Yeah, in front of that CS'09 board thing. Even if you brought a photo, like xun, you still have to take a photo and pay $2! Boo.
Yujie and I drank jiajia liangteh during our wait! Lol! :)
We walked down this long long hallway (which is actually just another carpark) after a long wait of say, 5 hours?
An Instruction clipboard!

I think this is my first attempt to rake a mirror image. Xun, me, yujie and gina over at the back! The girl bending at the side is the new friend we made (we travelled in groups of 5).

The media at work! There's lai yi ling and lin cui fang in their outfits. :D
That's the room we went into! You walk in, face about 4 judges you don't recognise, you say whatever that was taught in the instruction clipboard, start singing, and a judge gives you a cue to look behind. I was quite happy with my introduction! I said it quite nicely I think. But my voice was shaky when I started to sing, because I was just shaking inside. -.- My song is 回到原点 by 钟晓玉. If you watched the previous 7pm channel 8 show, 大城情事, it's the theme song. :)
1294! Hahaha go buy 4D! :D
Yeah! So that was my day. And after that, the four of us, yujie went home in another bus and wenfang, gina's loyal supporter, joined me and xun on our way back. Then after that I went for my first facial! Yeah, I was lucky, I managed to get an appointment at Leonard&Drake today last minute after someone cancelled hers and there was a discount of 50%! :D Hehe, it was a super relaxing experience, except for extractions! That was really painful! :/ But the rest of it was good, especially when I had a double layer cold mask and just lay there for about 20 minutes, which was super comfy and relieved me from my whole day of dumb waiting. Arrgh. Prom's costing me too much. But oh well! At least I had a discount for such a good treatment hehe. :)
Yesterday:
Oh! HAHAHA I found a job! :D It's at Marina Square; Yuki no Yaki. The in-charge's really nice! I stated that I can start work after next week, which is full which events like commencement ceremony, prom night and also class chalet, and he asked whether I could start next week! Of course, I gladly agreed. :) I just have to fulfil a quota of 8 hours a week, so I guess I could squeeze some time... He says he has to inform his manager first, so I'm still waiting for his call. I like their uniform! It's a maroon blouse with a black apron. Hmmm. I wonder what would I be doing? :)
Went for the NLHC thing with Nicole and Christine. We reached there early at the padang, and couldn't get our free gifts because we had to wait for some ulu pandan cc in-charge or something. So we walked back to cityhall, where Nicole and Christine went to RafflesCity first while I headed over to Marina Square to get my job. :D In the end we went back there and just got our free t-shirt, a nice pink band and some fan that was given out by people there haha. Omg then after that Nicole wanted to bring me and Christine to find this ramen shop which was supposedly at China Square and often recommended by Sean or something, and we hunted high and low and couldn't find it. So we ended up at the unfamiliar China Square where a lot of people were having their "happy hour" or something, and ended up grabbing a bite at Pizza Hut. After that we had to walk back to Clarke Quay station, which was the nearest station there, and I had no idea how we managed to reach somewhere so far; we walked from the padang and Raffles Place MRT! In the end I could only reach home at 10pm, which was why I wailed when Xun smsed me and wanted to meet at 9am today.
The Day Before:
Modern dance try-outs! Oh, it's like ballet/ chinese dance! Man, I had to do splits and some backward stand thing. It was really tiring! But very fufilling too. :) It's like my first decent dance practice since primary school! I'm still deciding whether to go for hiphop or modern dance though. I think my personality fits modern dance side hee. Made new friends over there too, and didn't feel like going for hiphop tryouts, which was halfway through practice. Xun went for that though, and she told me it was good! Yeah, so she's like set on not taking modern dance and taking hiphop instead.
Nevermind! I have a whole Sunday to myself tomorrow, for a long-awaited good rest! My parents are leaving for Genting early tomorrow morning hee. Uhh, bon voyage, mum & dad! :D
