Annyeonghaseyo! I'm currently blogging in
Korea now! :D
The hotel I'm staying in tonight actually has a computer! That's like really cool.
I'm loving Korea! They hardly have any English signs around, and it's pretty cool to visit a place where you don't know what the local people are saying or what the signs read. The weather's pretty good; it's summer, but there are cool breezes so you don't sweat. Arrived early in Incheon International airport today at 6am (it's one hour ahead of Singapore time over here), and had a long 2 hours ride to Mount Maisan, our first stop. Ooh, the mountain looked like horse ears! Yeah, it's called "ma er shan"- "horse ear mountain". OH, I think all Koreans are very pretty! :D My tour guide's pretty friendly. and there's this photographer that was attached with our group and he's super jolly and nice! He's always walking around and serving us extra food during mealtimes haha.
Then later in the afternoon we had cooking and traditional drum lessons! heh, I think the bibimbap that I made with my family tasted quite nice! :) We cooked everything, arranged the ingredients nicely on copper bowls (gee, they're heavy!), then mixed everything up when we ate. Oh, and drumming lessons were interesting too. We were beating the drum with 3 types of beats - "gong", "ta" and "thong".
I'm not adapting to the local food well though. Tried kimchi once in the afternoon and did not attempt to eat later for dinner. It's spicy! :/ Oh, lunch was actually pretty nice; we had this super healthy steamboat that was full of all sorts of fungi and vegetables! The only meat for this meal was only a few pieces of lean pork found in the steamboat. Dinner wasn't too appetizing for me though. The whole table was spreaded out with lots of small dishes of Korean delights; most of which were either sour, salty or spicy. There was hardly anything I felt like trying on the table. Oh, there were four types of soup for us to try; 3 tasted like tomyam at different levels of spicyness, 1 really nice simple egg soup. So I only liked the egg soup and another hot plate of spicy pork on the table (well, at least these two dishes were hot). But anyway I attempted to try the new stuff; just that I felt a bit sick staring at the whole table of cold, red dishes due to the spices for dinner. There were about 20 small plates of food sprawled over the table for four.
There's no one in my tour that's my age! But there are many families with small kids, and a couple of couples. I think there are two little boys in my tour group that's uber cute! :D Heh heh. But I guess it's normal not to find people my age for this tour 'cos many people my age won't go on holidays at this time of the year when exams are coming super soon!
We returned to our hotels sooo early today! Like 7pm, after dinner. Hence me blogging now. Oh no, I do not have any mood to rack my brains over my maths homework now! Actually, I just feel like enjoying myself to the maximum in this wonderful place, where I don't understand anything at all so walking down the streets is already super fun, 'cos I take pictures of anything that's foreign to me, even toilet signs which have Korean characters on them haha. :)
I shall upload photos when I arrive back in Singapore. It's not very convenient over here, 'cos it'll take quite a while. Visiting a bamboo museum and green tea plantation tomorrow. So long!
